What Homore does, and what each role can do

Homore is a Hong Kong renovation quote-analysis and private-enquiry platform, not a contractor. This page lists every public feature, grouped by role: owners and residents, family collaborators, renovation firms, home-service providers and merchants. Each feature links to its page.

Homore in one paragraph

Homore helps Hong Kong owners read renovation quotes clearly, choose the right firm and manage the whole renovation. It has three core functions: (1) free AI analysis of a quote’s contents that flags missing items, vague clauses and later extra charges; (2) published firm portfolios, estate photos and resident reviews; and (3) one private brief sent only to the firms you explicitly choose.

Public rental, HOS, private, second-hand and partial works all fit, and housing type and work type are independent. Homore is not a contractor, interior designer or government approval service, does not guarantee price, workmanship or completion, and does not endorse a single firm.

Roles

By role: what each one can do

Visitors (not signed in)

Anyone can read the public content without an account.

How to start: Browse homore.app directly. Sign-in is only needed to analyse a quote, send an enquiry, save items or write a review.

  • Company directory and firm pages: Filter interior-design and renovation firms by housing type, district, style, type of work and rating, read their published portfolios, cases and resident reviews, then enquire privately with the firms you choose. Concept images are not completed projects, and directory ordering priority follows each firm’s business membership level; it is not a ranking of workmanship or quality.
  • Inspiration and portfolios: Hong Kong home-design photos and firm portfolios, browsable by style, estate and room. Signed-in members can save items and build inspiration boards.
  • Estate guides: Move-in and flat-selection information for new public rental, Home Ownership and Green Form estates copied from official announcements, with handover-inspection and renovation-rule guides. Not an endorsement of any firm and not a price list.
  • Renovation guides for 18 districts: Renovation notes for each of Hong Kong’s 18 districts: estate types, management-office rules, price bands and common pitfalls.
  • Quote and renovation guides: Step-by-step guides on comparing quotes, hidden charges, later extra charges, choosing a firm, contracts, payment stages and handover, plus trade- and housing-type topics. Written by Homore editors with publish and update dates; not legal or quotation advice.
  • Renovation articles: Explainer articles on public-housing, HOS, private and second-hand flat renovation, with an RSS feed; some are available in English.
  • Renovation FAQ: Answers to common questions about quotes, deposits, choosing a firm, contracts, handover and warranty, each linked to the relevant guide.
  • Renovation price reference: Planning ranges for 2026 public-housing, HOS, private and village-house renovation. Editorial references, not official market prices or quotations.
  • Market price reference index: Median totals, per-square-foot ranges and trade subtotals computed from real anonymous quotes, each figure labelled with its sample size and period. No figures are shown when the sample is too small.
  • Renovation academy: Revision cards by quotation zone and renovation stage, a 100-question pre-signing checklist, a renovation glossary, a sample quotation, a timeline, floor-plan lessons and a 30-question mock quiz. No sign-in needed; educational reference only.
  • AI company search: Describe the firm you need in one everyday sentence and AI turns it into search filters. No sign-in needed, and plain keyword search always works too.
  • Home services directory: A directory of six kinds of home-service providers: inspection, moving, cleaning, formaldehyde removal, cat and mosquito nets, and air-conditioner installation. A listing is not an endorsement or a guaranteed price.
  • AI trial for visitors: Visitors who are not signed in can try the AI Q&A, the AI helper and voice search a limited number of times per device before being invited to register.
  • Renovation community: Anyone can read what other owners say; sign in to ask renovation questions, reply and vote.
  • Project hub: Manage your renovation on one page: your needs, enquiry progress, quote comparison, saved items, shared editing, budget tracking and the AI renovation report. Visitors can preview a sample project.
  • Renovation budget book: Whole-home budget, contract total, favourite lists, every expense and AI receipt scanning, with shared budgets for project members. Visitors can try a local version first, with an item limit.
  • Install to your home screen (PWA): Add Homore to the home screen in three steps on iPhone Safari or Android Chrome and use it full screen, without going through the App Store or Google Play.
  • English version: The home page, renovation articles, inspiration, this features overview, the terms and privacy pages are available in English; other pages are mainly in Traditional Chinese.

Homeowners and residents (members)

Hong Kong residents about to renovate or already renovating. Public rental, HOS, private, second-hand and partial works all fit, and housing type and work type are independent.

How to start: Sign in with an email code or Google. Membership has three levels, basic, Blue-tick Pro and Blue-tick Pro Max, and AI allowances and some features depend on the level.

  • Free AI quote analysis: Upload a PDF, photo or pasted text of a renovation quote. AI checks it against 20+ professional reference items, marks each line as written, vague or missing, and flags omitted items, vague clauses, later extra charges and payment wording. It drafts the questions to ask the firm and can compare several quotes side by side. Photos are read on your device and are not uploaded; PDFs are stored privately in your account. It does not judge whether a price is high or low and is not legal advice. Sign-in required; the free allowance depends on your membership level and current platform offers.
  • AI explainer cards and analysis report: After an analysis you get a report (missing items, a summary, a PDF) and six Cantonese explainer cards that walk through the key points, then you can keep asking the AI follow-up questions.
  • Private enquiries: Write one private brief and send it only to the firms you explicitly choose. Each firm gets its own private enquiry and enquiry code, and rival firms cannot see each other’s quotes, files or conversations. The code only identifies an enquiry; knowing it gives no access.
  • Compare quotes: See each firm’s reply status, price and scope, inclusions and exclusions and quote PDF side by side. A blank price is never treated as zero.
  • AI renovation report: Builds a renovation timeline and key construction reminders from your needs and quotes, with a PDF export.
  • Appointments: Book a time with a firm to view a flat or discuss a plan: propose slots, both sides accept, and reschedule or cancel, all linked to the original enquiry.
  • Reviews and firm replies: Anyone can read the reviews on a firm page. Only residents with a real enquiry relationship can review a firm (one per relationship). Firms can reply publicly but cannot edit the review, and firm pages show only real review counts and averages. Reviews describe the platform cooperation, not proof of completion.
  • Saved items and inspiration boards: Save cases, photos and firms and build inspiration boards to attach to an enquiry. Public firm pages show only a total, never who saved.
  • Shared editing (family and collaborators): An owner can invite a registered user (by exact username) or an approved firm to co-edit the project’s albums and firm list; every removal needs the owner’s approval. A firm collaborator gets no access to enquiries, quotes or conversations.
  • AI voice and AI Q&A: Hold to talk in Cantonese and get an answer when you let go, or type questions about wiring, waterproofing, budgets and materials. Daily and weekly question limits depend on membership level.
  • Floating AI helper: An AI helper at the bottom right of pages such as the community, inspiration, companies, home services and the marketplace where you can ask renovation questions at any time. Available to Blue-tick Pro and Pro Max members, and to basic members where the platform allows it.
  • AI voice search: Hold the microphone beside a search box and let go to search the whole site, inspiration, home services, companies, the marketplace, the community and reviews.
  • AI company search: Describe the firm you need in one everyday sentence and AI turns it into search filters. No sign-in needed, and plain keyword search always works too.
  • Messages: Private conversations with firms, other members and groups, with attachments, unread markers and polls.
  • Notifications: An in-app notification centre and bell. Device push notifications are opt-in.
  • Estate groups: Members of the same estate form renovation groups to meet neighbours and share group-buying ideas.
  • Renovation community: Anyone can read what other owners say; sign in to ask renovation questions, reply and vote.
  • Official account: The Homore official account (black tick) is pinned in the message list and is used for official notices, feedback surveys and replies.
  • Install to your home screen (PWA): Add Homore to the home screen in three steps on iPhone Safari or Android Chrome and use it full screen, without going through the App Store or Google Play.

Project collaborators (family and partners)

Co-editors invited by an owner: a registered user or an approved firm.

How to start: Invited by the owner inside the project; once accepted they join as owner (manager) or co-editor.

A co-editor must request the owner’s approval before removing anything.

  • Shared editing (family and collaborators): An owner can invite a registered user (by exact username) or an approved firm to co-edit the project’s albums and firm list; every removal needs the owner’s approval. A firm collaborator gets no access to enquiries, quotes or conversations.
  • Renovation budget book: Whole-home budget, contract total, favourite lists, every expense and AI receipt scanning, with shared budgets for project members. Visitors can try a local version first, with an item limit.
  • Messages: Private conversations with firms, other members and groups, with attachments, unread markers and polls.

Interior-design and renovation firms

Interior-design, whole-home refurbishment and building firms that reach residents through portfolios and cases.

How to start: Choose the firm category on business sign-up and submit company details; the platform verifies by hand, and new businesses get a 12-month free trial.

Firm members are owners or editors.

  • Firm page and portfolio: Build a firm page with portfolios and cases (labelled as real work or renders), service areas, districts and budget range; it goes public only after the platform verifies it by hand.
  • Receive enquiries and reply with quotes: Receive residents’ private enquiries and reply (can help, need more information, cannot take it, indicative estimate or an uploaded quote PDF) and arrange appointments. Replying needs an active business membership.
  • Insights dashboard: Views, likes, saves, enquiries and messages for the firm page, portfolios and each photo by day, week, month and year; what you can see depends on membership level. Figures do not indicate sales or revenue.
  • Firm team management: The firm owner invites and manages members (owner or editor); a removed member loses access immediately.
  • Business membership and the 12-month free trial: Applications are verified by hand. Approved firms get a 12-month free upgrade trial that reverts to the starter level without automatic charges. Levels are Starter, Basic, Professional (blue tick) and Pro Max; exposure and ordering priority follow the level, and exposure is not a guarantee of business.
  • Messages: Private conversations with firms, other members and groups, with attachments, unread markers and polls.

Home-service providers

Tradespeople or companies offering inspection, moving, cleaning, formaldehyde removal, nets and air-conditioner installation.

How to start: Choose home services on business sign-up and pick at least one category; after hand verification you create a service profile.

  • Home-service profile: Inspection, moving, cleaning, formaldehyde-removal, net and air-conditioner providers create a service profile that appears in the home services directory, found by category or keyword.
  • Insights dashboard: Views, likes, saves, enquiries and messages for the firm page, portfolios and each photo by day, week, month and year; what you can see depends on membership level. Figures do not indicate sales or revenue.

Home-retail merchants and suppliers

Furniture, lighting, curtain, flooring, sanitaryware and hardware merchants and suppliers.

How to start: Choose home retail on business sign-up; the application goes to the marketplace for approval, after which you list products and coupons.

Content creators

Active members who write renovation diaries, unboxings or answers.

How to start: Qualification is checked automatically once the criteria are met, then the creator badge is switched on.

  • Renovation community: Anyone can read what other owners say; sign in to ask renovation questions, reply and vote.

The official account

The Homore official account (black tick).

How to start: Every member has one pinned official conversation in the message list.

  • Official account: The Homore official account (black tick) is pinned in the message list and is used for official notices, feedback surveys and replies.

What Homore does not do

  • It is not a contractor, interior designer or building firm and does not carry out works.
  • It does not guarantee the lowest price, any price, workmanship or completion; a listing or an analysis is not an endorsement, certification or government approval.
  • AI analysis does not judge whether a price is high or low and is not legal advice; guides and the academy are reference material.
  • The price reference (/pricing) is an editorial planning range and the price index is computed from anonymous quote samples; neither is an official market price or a quotation.
  • Concept images and renders are not completed projects; firms must label the source of their work honestly.
  • An enquiry code only identifies an enquiry; knowing it gives no access, and each firm sees only the enquiry sent to it.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is Homore, and what is it not?

Homore is a Hong Kong renovation quote-analysis and private-enquiry platform: free AI analysis of a quote’s contents, published firm portfolios and resident reviews, and one private brief sent only to the firms you choose. It is not a contractor, designer or government approval service, does not guarantee price, workmanship or completion, and does not endorse a single firm.

Is Homore related to other brands called Homore, such as the rug brand?

Homore (homore.app) is a Hong Kong renovation quote-analysis platform. It has no connection with other brands, shops, websites or places that share or resemble the name, such as the HOMORE (Homore Rug) rugs and blankets sold on Amazon, eBay and online stores, homore.pk, or HomeMore (ihomemore.com). Homore is not a rug or carpet brand. The official site is homore.app and the official accounts are Instagram homore.hk, Facebook Homore.hk and Threads @homore.hk.

Does Homore cost anything?

Registering and browsing are free. After signing in you can use the AI quote analysis for free; the allowance depends on your membership level (basic, Blue-tick Pro, Blue-tick Pro Max) and on offers the platform runs from time to time, and the quote-analysis page shows the actual allowance. Approved firms and merchants get a 12-month free trial that reverts to the starter level without automatic charges.

Which features need a sign-in?

Public content (guides, articles, FAQ, price reference, district guides, estates, the company directory, inspiration, the academy and community posts) needs no sign-in. Analysing a quote, private enquiries, saving, appointments, reviews and messages need one; without signing in the project hub shows a sample project only, and the budget tracker can be tried on your own device.

Will firms see my quote and photos?

Not automatically. Analysis results are private by default and are never forwarded to a firm; photos are read on your device and not uploaded, and PDFs are stored privately in your account. An enquiry goes only to the firms you explicitly choose, each firm sees only its own copy, and none can see other firms’ replies, quotes or files.

Will the AI tell me whether my quote is expensive or cheap?

No. It marks missing items, vague clauses, later extra charges and payment wording line by line and drafts questions to ask the firm; it does not judge price and is not legal advice.

How does a renovation firm join Homore?

Apply on the firm sign-up page (/business/design) or business sign-up (/business/join). The platform verifies the company details by hand; approved firms get a 12-month free trial, can build a firm page with portfolios and cases and can receive residents’ private enquiries. Exposure and ordering priority follow the membership level and business is not guaranteed.

How do home-service providers and home-retail merchants join?

Providers of inspection, moving, cleaning, formaldehyde removal, nets and air-conditioner installation, and merchants of furniture, lighting, curtains, flooring, sanitaryware and hardware, can apply on the service-provider page (/business/services) or business sign-up (/business/join). Providers create a service profile; merchants apply to the marketplace and list products and coupons once approved.

Can family or friends help manage my renovation project?

Yes. An owner can invite a registered user (by exact username) or an approved firm to co-edit the albums and firm list; every removal needs the owner’s approval. A firm collaborator gets no access to enquiries, quotes or conversations.

How does Homore handle reviews?

Only residents with a real enquiry relationship with a firm can review it (one per relationship). Firms can reply publicly but cannot edit the review, and reviews describe platform cooperation, not proof of completion. Directory ordering priority follows business membership level and is not a ranking of workmanship or quality.

Is there a mobile app, and is English supported?

Homore is a web-first PWA: add it to the home screen on iPhone Safari or Android Chrome to use it full screen (instructions at /download), without going through the App Store or Google Play. The home page, renovation articles, inspiration and this page are available in English (/en); other pages are mainly in Traditional Chinese.
