Scope and acceptance
These Business Terms (“Terms”) apply to interior design firms, renovation and engineering firms, contractors, home merchants and other service providers using Homore as a company, firm or other business, and to the owners, members and authorised persons acting for them (together, “Business Users” or “you”).
By ticking to agree when you apply for business membership, claim a company, or create or manage a company profile, or by continuing to use the Platform as a business, you agree to these Terms on behalf of that business and confirm you are authorised to accept them for it. These Terms apply together with the Terms of Use, the Community Guidelines and the Privacy Policy; for Business User matters, these Terms prevail if they conflict.
Eligibility and accurate information
- You must be a lawfully operating business with a valid business registration.
- You must obtain and maintain every licence, registration and insurance your business needs (for example registered minor works contractor, registered electrical contractor or registered gas contractor, depending on your services).
- Your company details, contacts, portfolio, case studies, prices and other information must be true, accurate, complete and not misleading, and updated promptly when they change.
- Homore may ask for supporting documents at any time and may suspend or remove a profile if they are not provided.
Homore’s approval is only a basic information check. It does not mean Homore has verified, endorsed or guaranteed your qualifications, licences, workmanship, financial standing or integrity.
Listing, approval, ranking and exposure
Homore may, at its discretion and without giving reasons, approve, reject, suspend or remove any Business User, profile, portfolio, case study, product, coupon or promotion.
Rankings, recommendations, search results and exposure are decided by Platform algorithms and policies and may take into account content quality, user engagement, relevance, reviews and paid promotion. Paid promotion is labelled according to Platform policy.
Homore does not guarantee any volume of enquiries, exposure, clicks, referrals or business.
Licence to your content, images and service information
“Business Content” means the company name, trade marks, logos, description, portfolio, case photos, videos, renderings, drawings, product and service information, prices, offers and other material you upload or provide. You keep ownership of your Business Content.
By agreeing to these Terms, you grant Homore a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, which we may sub-license to providers who operate services for us and to media partners, to use your Business Content and related product or service information on and off the Platform, including: display in the Platform, search, recommendations, rankings, inspiration galleries, articles, guides, and estate and district pages; promoting the Platform and your services on Homore’s official social media, emails, advertising, promotional materials, press releases and partner channels; and cropping, compressing, watermarking or attributing, translating and reformatting for display. Homore may also name your company and show your logo as a Platform partner in promotions.
This licence lasts while your profile is listed and for a reasonable period after removal or account closure, so that published promotional materials, backups and records can be handled; published promotional materials need not be recalled.
You promise that: (1) you own or have obtained every right needed for your Business Content, including licences from photographers, designers and other rights holders; (2) property owners have agreed to their flat’s photos and details being published; (3) the content contains no identifiable personal data (such as door numbers or residents’ faces) without consent; and (4) you label real site photos, renderings and AI-generated images accurately.
To the extent permitted by law, you agree not to assert moral rights against Homore’s reasonable use within this licence. Homore is not responsible for third parties downloading or using your public content without permission.
Enquiries, quotes and customer relationships
- You are directly responsible for quotes, contracts, works, products, services, timelines, safety, insurance, warranty and payments with your customers; Homore is not a party to any such contract.
- Your quotes and promotional information must be accurate and comply with the Hong Kong Trade Descriptions Ordinance and other consumer protection laws.
- You may use user data received through the Platform only to reply to and handle that enquiry. You must not sell, transfer or use it for other purposes; direct marketing requires the user’s consent as required by law.
- Enquiry codes are identifiers only; knowing a code grants no access to any information.
- You must communicate with users professionally and courteously.
Reviews, criticism and reputation
Users may post reviews, ratings, comments, posts, diaries, unboxings and other opinions about your company, staff, services and products, including negative ones. Reviews and user content are their authors’ personal opinions; Homore is not their author or publisher, does not verify each item, and does not endorse them.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Homore accepts no liability whatsoever for any review, criticism, complaint, malicious attack, false information, defamation or other statement by any user or third party about you or your company, or for any resulting loss of reputation, loss of goodwill, loss of business or income, loss of customers, or any other financial or non-financial loss to you or your company.
You agree not to bring claims against Homore for these matters and to pursue the relevant author directly instead. Where required by law or court order, Homore will assist as the law requires.
Homore has no obligation to remove negative reviews. Homore will act, at its discretion, only where a review breaches the Community Guidelines or the law (for example, it is clearly false, not first-hand, defamatory or doxxing). You may reply publicly or use the report function.
You must not: fake positive reviews or arrange for others to write reviews; offer money, discounts, gifts or other benefits for positive reviews or for removing negative ones; ask customers to leave only positive reviews; threaten, harass, retaliate against or dox reviewers; or write, or have others write, negative reviews about competitors.
Homore decides how ratings and reviews are displayed and how rankings are calculated, and may change this at any time.
Business conduct
- No false or misleading advertising, pricing or discount claims, and no bait-and-switch pricing.
- Do not impersonate other firms, use others’ portfolios, or apply with false information.
- Do not inflate metrics, buy engagement or manipulate rankings, reviews or recommendations in any way.
- Do not harass users or contact them after they block you.
- Follow the Community Guidelines and all applicable laws.
Fees, promotion and coupons
Prices and conditions for paid membership, promotion, advertising and other paid services are as shown at purchase or confirmed in writing. Unless required by law or stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable. You are responsible for all applicable taxes.
Homore may change prices and service content; changes do not affect service periods you have already paid for. When a membership expires, it returns to the basic level under the policy then in force.
You are responsible for honouring coupons and offers you publish on the Platform, on the conditions stated on the offer page, and must not unreasonably refuse a valid coupon.
Disclaimer and limit of liability
The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Homore does not guarantee any business outcome and is not responsible for: any user’s conduct (including non-payment, cancellation, no-shows, false enquiries or malicious reviews); any dispute between you and your customers; service interruption, data loss or system errors; third-party services; or any indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential loss, including loss of profit, business, goodwill or reputation.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Homore’s total liability arising from or relating to these Terms or the Platform is limited to the total fees you actually paid Homore in the 12 months before the claim, or HK$100 if you have paid nothing. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Homore and its personnel, agents and partners against any claim, loss, liability, penalty or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: your Business Content; your works, products or services; disputes with your customers, staff, subcontractors or other third parties; your infringement of any intellectual property or privacy; or your breach of these Terms or the law.
Suspension, removal and termination
Homore may, at its discretion, suspend, restrict or terminate any Business User, profile or feature at any time, in particular for breach of these Terms, serious complaints, suspected unlawful activity or to protect users. Except where required by law, fees paid are not refunded when suspension or termination results from a breach.
You may ask for your company profile to be removed or stop using the Platform at any time. Clauses on content licence, review disclaimer, limit of liability, indemnity and governing law survive termination.
Data protection
For personal data of users you receive through the Platform, you act as an independent data user. You must comply with the Hong Kong Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, take reasonable security measures and delete the data when no longer needed.
Changes and final decision
Homore reserves the right to change these Terms at any time. For material changes we will give at least 7 days’ notice on the Platform or by email; continuing to use the Platform as a business after a change takes effect means you accept it.
To the extent permitted by law, Homore has the final decision on the interpretation of these Terms, listing and approval, rankings and recommendations, handling of reviews, promotion arrangements and account enforcement. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Governing law and contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hong Kong courts. They are published in Chinese and English; if the versions differ, the Chinese version prevails.
